Yes. Curlwaa is only a short drive from Mildura across the George Chaffey bridge, and we work both sides of the Murray as a matter of course. Being on the New South Wales side does not change our pricing approach: we still give you a fixed, itemised, on-site quote. The trip over the bridge is factored into that quote, so there are no surprises.

We cannot promise a slab will never crack, but we control where and how it cracks with good practice. On hot Sunraysia days we pour early in the morning, use an evaporative retarder to slow surface moisture loss, and set up windbreaks where the site is exposed. Once finished, we wet-cure the slab or apply a curing compound and keep it curing for several days. We also cut control joints at planned spacings so any shrinkage movement is guided to the joints rather than showing across the face.

It can, and it is worth taking seriously on Curlwaa's river-flat blocks. A shallow water table lets moisture and dissolved salts move up towards a slab, which over time can attack the cement and corrode the steel inside it. To manage this we lay a continuous damp-proof membrane under the slab, keep adequate cover to the reinforcement, and can specify a higher-grade, more durable mix suited to the exposure where the ground is salty or damp. A soil test tells us how far to take those measures on your particular block.

For a house slab we recommend one. Soil across Curlwaa varies from stable sand to reactive clay pockets, and only a site classification under AS 2870 tells us which you have. We then build the slab and footings to the classification and the engineer's details, so the design matches the ground rather than a general assumption. For a simple path or small shed floor a full test is not usually needed, and we will tell you honestly which applies.

You then get a fixed, itemised quote that sets out exactly what the pour includes. Any per-square-metre guide we mention is for new work with standard access and base preparation; removal of old concrete, difficult access, extra thickness or salinity detailing can change it. If the scope changes once we start, we agree the variation with you in writing first.
