We prepare the site for the ground it sits on, excavating, compacting the base and setting formwork, steel mesh reinforcement and control joints to suit stable Mallee sand, reactive clay pockets or low, damp irrigation-block ground. We then pour, screed and finish the concrete in your chosen finish, timing the pour for the cooler part of the day and shielding it from wind so it is not laid on a hot, dry Mallee afternoon that dries the surface out too fast.

Do I need a soil test before you pour a slab?

Yes. A site classification from a soil test tells the engineer how reactive your ground is and drives the slab and footing design under AS 2870.
