We will not promise a colour stays identical forever, because no outdoor surface does, but we can recommend colours and sealers that wear gracefully. Periodic resealing is the simplest way to keep it looking its best.

Mottling almost always comes down to uneven curing and moisture loss, which is a real risk in Mildura's dry heat. When one part of the slab dries faster than another, the colour sets at different rates and you get blotches. We manage it by dosing the oxide consistently, pouring early in the day, and curing the whole slab slowly and evenly with a compound or damp cover instead of letting the sun draw it off. Some natural variation is part of the character of coloured concrete, but bad blotching is a curing failure we work hard to avoid.

That is efflorescence, a thin bloom of salts that migrates to the surface as moisture moves through the slab, and it can look like a white film over the colour. We reduce the risk by using an appropriate mix, laying a damp-proof membrane under the slab where the ground is damp, and curing properly. If it does appear it can usually be cleaned, and sealing helps keep it at bay.
